Teeth whitening involves placing a gentle bleaching soln into specially made, custom fitting trays. It is important that the trays fit precisely to give the best results with the least sensitivity and minimise leaking of the bleaching soln.
At our dental practice in Limerick, we have extensive experience and a lot of specialist training and provide the best bleaching system available. Over the years, we have used a number of high profile bleaching systems. We now combine the best features of all of these to give our patients the best result possible.
Q. Does it hurt?
Some minor sensititivity is normal but by using mild bleach and precisily fitting, custom made trays we greatly reduce any sensitivity.
Q. How white will my teeth go?
All teeth will whiten with bleaching but everyone is different and some people will require longer treatment than others. Your dentist will advise you beforehand of a likely timeframe.
Q. Does it last?
By using our custom fitted trays, you can top up your bleaching whenever you want to keep your teeth looking their best. Additional bleach is available to purchase at the surgery.
Q. How long does it take?
A minimum of two weeks, at two hours per night. Treatment time is determined by the colour of the teeth to begin with and how quickly they respond to bleaching. Younger teeth tend to bleach quicker than older teeth.
Q. Is there an age limit?
Recently introduced European leglislation means we can only bleach teeth of patients who are 18 years or older. There is no upper age limit.
