Dental Implants can provide the ideal solution to those who have lost their teeth through injury or decay.
An implant consists of a root portion (the implant itself) which connects to the crown (the tooth portion) via a screw and/or an abutment.
The implant requires surgical placement in the jawbone (carried out in the surgery) followed by a period of healing, usually about 3 months and then the placement of the dental crown.
What You Need To Know About Dental Implants
Anyone over the age of 18 and in good general health is suitable.
Heavy smokers or anyone with an underlying medical condition will need to discuss the treatment with their dentist.
Implants can replace single or multiple teeth.
Implants can also support a denture making it much more retentive and allow you to eat foods you were previously unable to chew.
Placement of the root portion (implant) takes one visit.
The bone is then given time to heal for approximately 3 months, after which the implant is restored with an abutment and crown.
Normally, the implant procedure is complete within 3-4 visits.
Implants are placed in the jaw so there is no need to damage adjacent teeth as with bridges.
Implants provide a much more stable bite than dentures and in addition implants maintain the bone levels which over time would be reduced under a denture or bridge.
They are also easier to clean and are more natural and lifelike.
Single Implant from €700

Your Dental Implant Initial Consultation
During your initial consultation, we assess your bone, the health of your teeth and gums.
We have an in house 3-d scanner and we take a number of x-rays to see if you are a candidate for dental implants.
The implant procedure usually takes about 3 months. At no stage will you be left with an unsightly gap.
We provide you with a removable partial denture or in some cases a temporary bridge just to cover up any gap.
